Obituary for Ella May TRONE SMITH
The Rushville Times, October 7, 1936
Funeral Held Saturday for Mrs. Edward Smith
Mrs. Ella May Trone Smith, wife of Edward Smith,
died Thursday morning at the family residence in this city after a brief
illness, caused by an infected wound on her thumb.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. M. A. Warren,
were held Saturday at 2 o'clock at the Gordon funeral home. Interment was
in the Boling cemetery in Bainbridge township.
The following obituary was read at the funeral:
Ella May Trone, daughter of Silas and Elizabeth
Stevens Trone, was born near Pleasant View, Illinois, September 2, 1890,
and departed this life October 1, 1936, after an illness of five weeks
at her home, aged 46 years and 29 days.
She was of a family of eight children of whom three
sisters and four brothers survive, namely: Mrs. Nellie Reno, Rushville;
Mrs. Mary Harris, Terre Haute, Ill.; Mrs. Delia Portwood, Rushville; Silas
Trone, Browning, and Nick Trone, Rushville.
On October 2, 1910, she was united in marriage to
Edw. Smith of Pleasant View, Illinois. To this union two sons were born,

Her home was her pride, and being possessed of a
kind helpful nature she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. All
that medical care and loving hands could do was done to keep her but God
knew best.
Obituary for Barbara Joan EBBERT
The Rushville Times, October 7, 1936
Barbara Joan Ebbert was born April 30, 1934, near
Ray and went home to be with Jesus Sept. 29, 1936.
Joan was the eighth child born to Mr. and Mrs. John
Ebbert. She will be sadly missed in the home where she was so cherished,
but one more rose is blooming in heaven, and heaven is made richer by our
loss. Tho we do not understand God's purpose and plan when out hearts are
made to ache and bleed, we know His way is always best.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her parents, four
sisters, Mrs. Leona Smith of Astoria, Lucille, Mary and Doris; three brothers,
Lewis of Rushville, Paul and Victor at home, and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 10 a.m.
at the Christian Neck community church by Rev. Frank Goodin, pastor of
the First Pentecostal church at Beardstown. Interment was in the Christian
Neck cemetery.
CARD OF THANKS--We wish to thank our many friends
for the beautiful flowers, assistance and sympathy in our time of sorrow.--Mr.
and Mrs. John Ebbert and Family.
