Obituary for Paul Henry SCHNAKE

Paul Henry Schnake, 93, of Beardstown, died Monday,
July 24, 2000, at Culbertson Long Term Care in Rushville.
He was born Dec. 21, 1906, in Hagener Township in
Cass County to Henry Schnake and Anna Pelker-Schnake. He married Irene
Westermeyer on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1947, in the parsonage of the Bluffs’
Lutheran Church.
He is survived by a nephew, Marvin Schnake, three
great nieces, five great nephews and several great-great nieces and great-great
nephews. He was preceded
in death by his wife, Irene; both of his parents; three brothers, Frederick,
Edwin, and Albert; and two nephews.
Mr. Schnake was a member of the First Evangelical
(Fourth Street) Lutheran Church of Beardstown, Farm Bureau, and a past
election board member. He was honorably discharged as an air maintenance
technican from World War II
After retiring from farming and raising hogs, he
liked to travel, especially on the Elder-Hostel trips to several U.S. states,
Germany, England, and Italy.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday,
July 26, 2000, at the Cline-Goodwin Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial
at Beardstown City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to
service at the funeral home. The family has suggested memorials be made
to the Fourth Street Lutheran Church
of Beardstown.
Obituary for Newton Max SIMPSON

Newton Max Simpson, 75, of Lewistown, died Wednesday
May 31, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 6, 1924, at Ray, the son of Newton
and Alice (Robinson) Simpson. He married Martha Knappenberger on Feb. 11,
1967, at Macomb. She survives with one son, Allen Simpson of Colchester;
one daughter, Alesa Simpson of Macomb; one stepson, Frank Shanks of Amarilo,
Texas; two step-daughters, Nancy Fugate of Navarre, Fla., and Helen Nasep
of Peoria; one grandson; nine step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren;
one brother, Romeo Simpson of Rushville; one half-brother, Wayland Billingsley
of Appleton, Wisc.; and three sisters, Doris Dean of Yakama, Wash., Hazel
Becraft of Roseville and Ruey Strubenger of Ridge Farm.
He was preceded in death by one half-brother, one
half-sister, one step-grandson, and one step-great-grandson.
He worked as superintendent at the Peoria Post Office,
and later worked as postmaster at the Lewistown Post Office before retiring.
He was a WW II Army Veteran, and a recipient of a Bronze Star. He was an
active member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church, where he served
as a trustee, a board member, and a member of the Methodist Men’s Club.
He had served as an alderman for the city of Lewistown, and was a member
of the Lewistown VFW Post 5001, American Legion Post 1, Lewistown Optimist
Club, and the Sierra Club. He also had served as a delegate at the United
Methodist Church Convention. He was an avid gardener, and also collected
antique John Deere tractors (full size).
Services were held Tuesday, June 6, at his church,
with Rev. Jon Sims officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery,
with military services by his VFW and American Legion Posts. Henry Memorial
Home in Lewistown was in charge of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown
United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.
Obituary for Lydia F. MEHMKEN TAEGER

Lydia F. Taeger, 88, of Rushville, formerly of Burlington,
Iowa, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home
in Rushville.
Born Dec. 7, 1911, in Roscoe, Iowa, to John and
Martha Schulze Mehmken, she married Edwin F. Taeger on Aug. 18, 1934, in
Des Moines County, Iowa. He died Sept. 12, 1986.
One grandson and one great-granddaughter also preceded
her in death. Surviving are one son, James of St. Joseph; two daughters,
Martha VanBaale of Rushville and Sandra of Arena, Wisc.; 10 grandchildren;
two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She worked at Burlington School Cafeteria in Burlington
for 21 years.
She was an active member of the Senior Citizens
Quilting Group.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Burlington
and its Women’s Circle.
Services were Tuesday at her church. The Revs. Duane
Miller and Jack Reents officiated. Burial was in Salem Lutheran Cemetery
in rural Burlington. Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel of Rushville is in charge
of local arrangements.
Memorials may be made to her church or Snyder’s
Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home of Rushville.
Obituary for Mary Ann STIVERS TUCKER

Mary Ann Tucker, 66, of East Peoria, died Wednesday,
June 21, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born Aug. 1, 1933, in Rushville to Glenn and Velma
Fretueg Stivers, she married Lee Tucker on Aug. 5, 1951, in Rushville.
He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Lonnie (wife Sandra)
of East Peoria; three daughters, Glenna (husband Raymond) Peplow and Brenda
(husband David) McIntyre, both of East Peoria, and Stephanie (husband Martin)
Clayton of Washington; one brother, Richard (wife Mary) Stivers of Rushville;
three sisters, Louise McMillan of East Peoria and Minnie (husband Bill)
Arnold and Margurete (husband Earl) Smith, both of Rushville; and nine
grandchildren.
Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
She was the proprietor of Ping’s Pantry in Rushville.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of East
Peoria.
Services were Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Emmert
Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial was in the Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

Nina Walker, 87, of Rushville, died Monday, June
26, 2000, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born June 8, 1913, in Oakland Township,
Schuyler County, to the late Samuel W. and Catherine Montooth Phillips.
She married Evert Clyde Walker Aug. 18, 1935, in Macomb. He died Jan. 9,
1971.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Max (Shirley) Strode
of Bradford; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister,
Mrs. Russell (Catherine) Sargent of Rushville; and one brother, Willard
Phillips, of Rushville.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and four
brothers.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church
of Rushville. She worked at Stephen’s Cleaners and J.C. Penney Co. in Rushville
until retiring in 1983.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
June 29, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Scott Henley
officiating. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven
Nursing Home in Rushville.

Howard “Bill” Yates, 87, of Camden, died Thursday,
Aug. 3, 2000, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
He was born Dec. 26, 1912, in Camden Township, Schuyler
County; the son of Robert Richmond and Clara Ann Black Yates. He married
Hazel Lung on Sept. 12, 1937, in the Methodist Church parsonage in Industry.
She survives, along with two sons, Dennis (wife
Sheila) of Rushville and Steve of Camden; one daughter, Dianne Filbert
(hushand Warren) of Columbia, Mo.; two grandchildren; one brother, Warren,
of El Paso; and one sister, Catherine Ward, of Rushville.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, John
Richard; five brothers and five sisters.
He was a member of the Bethany Church near Camden
and Camden Lodge #648 A.F. & A.M. The lifelong Camden Township
farmer was a Camden Township clerk and supervisor for many years and was
a member of the Township Officials of Illinois.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Worthington
Funeral Home in Rushville with burial in the Rushville City Cemetery. The
Rev. Carl Wiggins officiated. Masonic services were conducted on
Saturday by the Camden Lodge #648 A.F. & A.M.

James F. Young, 75, of Industry died Sunday, July
30, 2000, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Sept. 5, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa
to the late William E. and Blanche R. Scott Young.
He married Lorene L. Longcor Aug. 12, 1984 in Keokuk,
Iowa.
She survives along with one son, William James Young
of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two daughters, Mary Ann Downey and Carla Jean Johnson
both of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; one sister, Louise Woolley of Mt. Pleasant,
Iowa.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and one
sister.
He was a farmer in Iowa and Illinois for many years
and then was a janitor at the Industry School retiring in 1989.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Aug. 1 at
the Industry Cemetery with Marshall Litchfield officiating. The Worthington
Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of services.

was buried on Sunday last.
-BRAZELTON, Alexander -- Died at his residence in
Rushville on Tuesday morning, August 31, 1875 of general debility, Mr.
Alexander BRAZELTON, aged 72 years, 5 months and 22 days. Mr. BRAZELTON
was a native of Blount County, Tennessee, where he resided until 1829 when
he emigrated to Vermillion County, Illinois. He removed from that county
to Rushville in 1831, where he resided until his death. For a number of
years he has been confined to his residence having lost his eyesight and
for the past 3 or 4 years he has been almost helpless, being a constant
care to his aged wife.
-HOAGLAND, Oakey M. -- Died at his residence in
Bardolph, McDonough County, Illinois, August 18, 1875 of dysentery, after
a lingering illness, Oakey M. HOAGLAND in the 73rd year of his age. The
deceased was one of the early settlers of Rushville, having emigrated from
Kentucky and settled in this place in
1836. He was engaged in merchandizing here until 1840 when he removed
to a farm near Bardolph on which he resided until very recently.
-HUGHES, Bertha Alice -- Died on August 18, 1875,
Bertha Alice, infant daughter of George R. and P. J. HUGHES, aged 6 months
and 7 days.
-CHADSEY, Josephine Scott -- Died at the residence
of her parents near Rushville on the 28th ult., Josephine Scott, daughter
of George and Lizzie CHADSEY, aged 9 months and 13 days.

Lora Vail "Tom" Agans, 83, of Rushville, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born May 10, 1917, in Camden Township, Schuyler County the son of the late F.W. and Clara Jane (Marlow) Agans. He married Louise Roudebush on Aug. 14, 1940, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Larry Agans (wife Debbie) of Marion; two daughters, Sandra Brockman of Beardstown and Janie Ward (husband Jerry) of Rushville; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ora Agans, of Rushville; and two sisters, Margria Sharer (husband Harlan) of Milan, and Marthia Flake (husband Maurice) of Harrison, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Dusty Jo Ward, and two brothers, Harold and Winscyial Agans.
He first worked for the Adams Electrical Co-Operative as a lineman. He later farmed for Charles Rohn. In 1945, he began working at Quinn's Shell in Rushville. In 1966, he purchased the business and renamed it Tom's Shell and operated it until his retirement on March 16, 1980. He then drove a school bus for Schuyler Unit District #1.
He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville, a 50-year member of Rushville Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 9, Lusk Chapter No. 20 Royal Arch Masons, Commandery 506 Knight Templar, 22 Club, 50-year member of the I.O.O.F, Friendship Lodge No. 24, and Adeleide Rebekah Lodge 381 before transferring membership to Macomb Rebekah Lodge 342. He enjoyed sharing "time" with his family and visiting with all his friends.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville with Rev. Robert Belew officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Schuyler County Track and Field Association.
Obituary for Betty L. Allen

Betty L. Allen, 66, of Clayton, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in St. John's Hospital North in Springfield.
Born Aug. 30, 1934, in Kellerville, Mrs. Allen was a daughter of Don and Helen Leapley Stevens. She married Jerry Allen on July 2, 1955, in Clayton. He survives.
Mrs. Allan was a homemaker and worked for Bents Family Foods in Camp Point for more than 20 years. She was a graduate of Clayton High School.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Beverly Bell (husband Tim) of Camp Point, and Bonnie Power (husband Rob) of Quincy; a sister, Pat Patton (husband Paul) of Clayton; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, Dec. 22 in the Hamilton Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald Busboom. Burial was in South Side Cemetery in Clayton.

Donna M. Belville, 60, of Astoria, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Jan. 4, 1940, in Industry the daughter of Ross and Lola Mae (Bozard) Robinson. She married Rodney E. Belville on Sept. 12, 1959, in Ipava. He survives.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Eugene Robinson.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Todd (Kerry) Simpson of Astoria; one son, David (and Dana) Belville of Astoria; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Robinson of Missouri; one sister, Norma McNeil of Security, Colo.; and a brother, Roger Bill (and Ann) Robinson of St. Charles.
She was a member of Vermont Rebekah Lodge #53 and the Astoria Christian Church. She had been a bookkeeper for Alexander Lumber Company in Astoria for more than 25 years.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with the Rev. Clifford Parry officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Shawgo Memorial Home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.

Dorothy A. "Dots" Bucy 63, of Astoria, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born Oct. 17, 1937, in Astoria, the daughter of Albert and Addie M. (Stambaugh) Schisler. She married John W. Bucy on Nov. 20, 1955, in Astoria. He survives.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Myra Danner and Marie Schisler.
Also surviving are two sons, Steve Bucy of Table Grove and Lance (wife, Lynn) Bucy of Astoria; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
She was a member of the Astoria United Methodist Church. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Howard Marx in Astoria. She then worked at the Farmers State Bank in Astoria, retiring in 1991.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with the Rev. Collis Trone officiating.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Rescue Squad.

Leroy E. Clemens, 79, of Astoria, died Sunday Dec. 24, 2000, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born Nov. 18, 1921, at Pleasant Township, Fulton County, the son of Lee R. and Viola (Parsley) Clemens. He married Betty Wickert on Dec. 23, 1943, in Ipava. She survives.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl "Red" Clemens.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Joyce) Stambaugh of Browning, Mrs. Keith (Christy) Lehman of Vermont, and Mrs. Herb (Jean) Crossman Jr. of Vermont; one son, Alan (wife, Georgiana) Clemens of Astoria; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Astoria Christian Church, and had been a farmer in the Astoria area all his life.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at the Astoria Christian Church with the Rev. Gary Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery near Astoria.

Betty Jean Stegmiller Cobb, 75, of Frederick, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in St. Joseph, Mo., the daughter of the late Charles Dewight and Clara Ann (Schultz) Randolph. She married Tyrus Cobb on Nov. 5, 1960, in Chicago. He died Sept. 24, 1998.
Surviving are one daughter, Clara Jean Lane of Frederick; two sons, George J. Stegmiller of Denver, Colo., and Charles D. Stegmiller of Dallas, Texas; one step son, Tyrus Cobb, Jr., of Medinah; two step daughters, JoAnn Costa of Lamont, and Shirley Jean Honig of Wood Dale; 11 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one step great-great-grandchild; one brother, Charles Dewight Randolph of … Gloria Fender of Chicago, and Gerrie Moss of Port-Charlotte, Fla.
She was a waitress at several restaurants in Chicago until retiring in 1965. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rushville.
Funeral services were Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Rushville with Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Burial was in the Messerer Cemetery near Frederick. Wood Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville was in charge of services.

Obituary for Dr. Dale Crone

Dr. Dale N. Crone died Aug. 28, 2000, in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was born March 10, 1930, in Rushville, the son of Mabel and Dwight Crone. Dale was a graduate of Rushville High School, Western Illinois University and Illinois State University were he received a doctorate of philosophy degree. He was a high school administrator in Rockford, retiring in 1986 and moving to Phoenix, Ariz.
He married Glennavon Grohs on Nov. 22, 1951, in Williamsfield. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church his entire life.
Dale is survived by his wife, Glennavon, and three daughters, Myra Crone, Marci Crone, and Leslie Maniscalco, as well as son-in-law, Steve; two grandchildren; a brother, Verne Crone of Rushville; a niece; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Maurine Cripe.
Services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Phoenix with interment in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix.

Larry G. Crook, 54, of Clayton, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, in his home.
Born April 14, 1946, in Pittsfield, he was a son of Lawrence and Ada Lee Crook. He married Cynthia Hageman Jan. 9, 1997, in Quincy. She survives.
He was a machinist at Hollister Whitney Elevator Corporation in Quincy and had previously worked at Bohn Aluminum in Beardstown for 19 years. He was a member of the Nazarene faith. He was in the United States Army, stationed in Bancock [Bangkok], Thailand from 1966-68.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his father, Lawrence Crook of Barry; two sons, Larry Crook (wife Bonnie) of Clayton and Timothy Crook of Beardstown; a daughter, Frances Sparks (husband Daniel) of Clayton; four stepsons, David Kirkpatrick (wife Lisa) of Quincy; Bobbie Kirkpatrick (wife Angelica) of Quincy; and Timothy Glassford and James Glassford of Lima; three brothers, Tom Crook of Nebo; David Crook of Rushville and Donnie Crook of Barry; seven sisters, Sue Sides of Arkansas; Becky Sheppard of Arkansas; Mary Ellen Crowe of Bushnell; Dorothy Brehe of Missouri; Sandy Blackorby of Hamburg; Vada Williams of Barry and Katie Williams of Barry; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 30 at the Hamilton Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Flint officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
Obituary for Mary Dotzert

Mary E. Dotzert, 79, of Beardstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Woodson, the daughter of Liz and Eula Wilson Virgin. She married Clarence E. Dotzert on June 15, 1940, in New London, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1998.
Surviving are four sons, Jerry Dotzert (wife Patsy), David C. Dotzert (wife Sue), Michael Dotzert (wife Joyce) and Douglas Dotzert, all of Beardstown; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Aileen Emerick and Bernice Loughary (husband Bob) both of Beardstown.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Dotzert graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1940. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs. Mrs. Dotzert farmed with her husband in Cass County for 50 years. When her children were young, Mrs. Dotzert worked at Woolworths in Beardstown. In recent years she worked at the Beardstown Elks Club and as an election judge for Precinct 2 in Beardstown.
Funeral services for Mary E. Dotzert were held Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown with Rev. Elise Rothfusz of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs officiating. Burial was in the Beardstown City Cemetery.
Memorials have been suggested to the Cass/Schuyler Hospice or the Cass County Visiting Nurses.

Marie Alice Doyle, 75, of Hamilton, formerly of Warsaw, died Wednesday; Dec. 20, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Hamilton, a daughter of Hugh and Clara Bell Stepp Worster. On Nov. 9, 1945, she married Carl Edward Doyle in Carthage. He died Jan. 24, 1992.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ralph Parker American Legion Post. She loved to crochet.
She is survived by four daughters, Clara Lung (husband Frank) of Rushville, Marjorie Armstrong (husband John) of Warsaw, Connie Keller (husband Jerry) of Warsaw, and Patricia Gutting (husband Earl) of Bardolph two sons, Carl Robert (wife Edna) of Warsaw and John Frederick (wife Stephanie) of Warsaw; one brother, James Worster of Alexandria, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant great-granddaughter, Hope Marie Doyle.
Funeral services were Saturday; Dec. 23, 2000, at the Lamporte Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. Rob Lane officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw.
Memorials in the name of Marie A. Doyle have been established for the Blessing Hancock County Hospice.

Walter F. Ellwood, 77, of Rushville, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Clayton to the late Deoh L. and Margaret L. Higgins Ellwood. He married Edith Briggs June 11, 1949, in Fulton, Mo., at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
She survives, along with five daughters, Pat (and Dan) Kinsell of Chapin, Mary (and Chuck) Downs of Normal, Barb (and Jim) Kerr of Rushville and Colleen (and Neil) Settles of Jacksonville, and Brenda (and Mike) Smith of Macomb; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Russell Ellwood of Payson; one sister, Dorothy Aden of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Albert; and two sisters, Clara Hunsaker and Edith Buckley.
He was an army veteran of W.W. II and a member of Schuyler American Legion Post 4. He also was a founding member of the Schuy-Rush Park Board and a past member of the Rushville Rotary Club. He was an area serviceman for Adams Electrical Co-Op for 34 years in Camp Point and Rushville, retiring in 1981.
A funeral mass was held Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Rushville with Father Robert Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery with military rites conducted by Schuyler American Legion Post 4. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of services.
Memorials may be given to St. Rose Catholic Church or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.

Celeste A. Forman, 98, a resident of the Macomb Senior Living Center, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at the Macomb Senior Living Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1902, in Hancock County, the daughter of Clarence and Emma Robinson Dry. She married Harry Clifford Forman on Sept. 25, 1923. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1983.
She is survived by two sons, Clarence (Darlene) Forman of Buffalo, Mo., and Junior (Merle) Forman of Rushville; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Vernon, one grandson, Don, and two sisters, Mary Cooper and Maxine Hay.
She had lived most of her life in the rural Rushville area. She enjoyed her family, gardening and flowers.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 7, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb with Chaplain Ron Green officiating. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of the arrangements.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Grove; four brothers and eight sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Sargent-Worthington Funeral [Home] in Macomb with Rev. Martin Janick officiating. Burial was in the Christian Neck Cemetery in Schuyler County.

She was born Nov. 12, 1901, in Littleton Township, Schuyler County, to the late James A. and Mary Catherine Finch Buckley.
She married Roscoe Hodges Nov. 15, 1919, in Virginia. He died July 31, 1958.
Surviving are two nieces, Lillian Buckley of Shalimar, Fla., and Ruth Van Horn of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, four brothers and one sister.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rushville, the Schuyler Senior Center, and was an R.S.V.P.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.

She was born March 18, 1910, in Fulton County, the daughter of Charles and Eva (Counselman) Crick.
She married Roy Johnson Jan. 27, 1961 in Canton. He died Sept. 12, 1978.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Jim (Virginia) Litchfield of Knoxville; and five step-grandchildren.
She was a member of Ipava Christian Church.
She was a bookkeeper for several businesses in Ipava and also for International Harvester in Canton.
Services were Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Pastor Kevin Kessler and Rev. Steven Litchfield officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.

James R. Little, 66, of Quincy, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in his home.
Born March 8, 1934, in Rushville, Mr. Little was the son of James Leslie and Ione Henderson Little. He married Gretchen Behrends on Oct. 8, 1961, in Lincoln. She survives.
He was a member of First Christian Church. He has been involved in Masonic Orders for 40 years as a member of Rushville Masonic Lodge No.9, Littleton Lodge No. 766 where he was a Past Master, Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple in Springfield, Quincy Shrine Club and the Belgian Hitch.
He graduated from Rushville High School in 1952 and from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago in 1953. He served his apprenticeship at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb. He entered the U.S. Army in 1956. He later worked for seven years at Preston Funeral Home and for three years at Kuecks Funeral Home in Pekin before moving to Clayton, where he farmed for five years. He later was employed at Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy until 1994, when he became a bailiff for the Adams County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Little retired in 1998.
Also surviving is a son, James Little III (wife Elizabeth) of McHenry; two daughters, Odette Little of Woodstock and Melissa Little of Hoboken, N.J.; three grandchildren; two brothers, David Little of Ozark, Mo., and Robert Little of Bartonville; a sister, Marilyn McElyer of Eureka; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Little was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth.
Funeral services were held Friday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. George Sublette officiating. Graveside services with Masonic Rites by Rushville Lodge No. 9 were held Friday afternoon in Littleton Cemetery. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy was in charge of the services.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church building fund or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.

Wesley Logsdon, 81, of Rushville, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Dec. 26, 1918, in Rushville, to the late Hugh and Mary Rittenhouse Logsdon. He married Ruth Paisley March 30, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo.
She survives, along with one son, Douglas Logsdon of Spring, Texas; one daughter, Bonnie Kelly of Great Falls, Mont.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rachel Rebman of Rushville.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Logsdon, and one sister, Mary Icenogle.
Mr. Logsdon served as a Rushvllle City Councilman Alderman for more than 20 years. He worked for the Strong Shell Oil Company in Rushville. He later was parts manager for Rushville Auto Parts and Rushville Motors. After retirement, he worked part-time at Grates Repair.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Wayne Bonser officiating. Burial was in the Palm Cemetery west of Rushville.

She was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Milmine, the daughter of Noble Edward and Alice Dobson Hendrix. She married Thomas Nathaniel McCartney on June 21, 1940, in Bement. He died Jan. 16, 1996.
She is survived by two sons, Noble Thomas of Pecatonica and Jeffry Lynn of Rushville; two daughters, Mary Margaret Duvall of Monticello and Ruth Ann McCartney of Bloomington; one brother, Warren Hendrix of Bement; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and three brothers.
She was a member of the Monticello First Christian Church and the Piatt County Farm Bureau.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at the Monticello First Christian Church with the Rev. Steve Ingram officiating. Burial was at Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monticello First Christian Church, Kirby Hospital or Cane Hospice.

Delores A. Miller, 71, of Pawnee, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at St. John's Hospice, in Springfield.
She was born April 5, 1929, in Rushville, the daughter of James Wade and Mary Armel Wilmot. She married Billy J. Miller in 1949 in Littleton. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maryln J. Jones.
Mrs. Miller had worked at the A&P Grocery Store in Rushville and the Schuyler County sheriff's department. She also had worked as a secretary for the Masonic Grand Lodge until her retirement in 1995.
She was a member of the Pawnee United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Love Thy Neighbor Group, Home Extension, a charter member of Pawnee Lioness and Pawnee Chapter 436 OES.
She is survived by her husband, Billy; two sons, Michael J. (wife, Betsy) Miller of Auburn, and Steven K. (wife, LuAnne) Miller of Pawnee; five grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Mulligan of Beardstown and Sally Poltawsky of Rushville; a brother, James Wilmot of Beardstown, three nieces and a nephew.
Services were at the Pawnee United Methodist Church, the Rev. Roger Russell officiating. Burial was in Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.

She was born Feb. 5, 1938, in Winter, Texas, the daughter of Walton A. and Bertha L. (Fuller) Harwood. She married John W. Groves, Jr., on Feb. 27, 1956, in Comanche, Texas. She then married Paul D. Morgan on April 12, 1974, in Dodge City, Kan. He preceded her in death, along with one daughter Aubrey and one brother, J.C.
Surviving are one son, Johnny (wife Mary) Groves of Astoria one daughter, Barbara Leann Groves of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a line worker for Texas Instruments for nine years
Services were Friday, Oct. 27, at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Gary Schultz officiating. Burial was Tuesday at Eula Cemetery in Eula, Texas.

Nellie M. Morrison, 75, of rural Lewistown, died at her residence Friday, Dec. 8, 2000.
She was born March 25, 1925, at Checkrow; in rural western Fulton County, to Glenn and Erma Potts Wallick. She married Vernon Morrison at Lewistown on March 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1990. She also was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two brothers, Jack (wife Marjilee) Wallick of Lewistown and Floyd (wife Toby) Wallick of California; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Helen) Miller of Bartonville, Betty Sheets of Huntsville, and Bernice Creps of Gooding, Idaho.
She was a farmer and homemaker. She had worked at various grocery stores in Bushnell. She was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau and the Illinois Sheep Growers Association.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation will be accorded. Arrangements were made by the Henry-Lange Memorials Home in Lewistown.

Elfie worked in retail sales for numerous years in the Decatur area.

He is survived by two sons, Merle E. Palmer of Gold Canyon, Ariz. and Arthur G. Palmer of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, June Brooks of Rushville; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, in 1992.
Mr. Palmer worked as a clerk for the Illinois Secretary of State. He was a member of the Woodside United Methodist Church.

He was born June 16, 1908, in Schuyler County, to John and Sarah Quinn. He married Margaret E. VanOrder on June 2, 1930, at the United Methodist Church in Rushville. She died Friday, March 29, 1997. He also was preceded in death by both his parents, a son, Forest Quinn, two grandsons, a son-in-law, five brothers and six sisters.
He is survived by a son, Donald (wife Shirley) of Warsaw, Mo., two daughters, Rosemary Greenhalgh of Stockton, Calif., and Joyce Quinn of San Antonio, Texas; and a daughter-in-law, Doris Quinn, of Beardstown; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
He was a carpenter in the Beardstown area.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 9 at Cline-Goodwin Funeral Home of Beardstown with Rev. Bill Cokenour of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial was in the Beardstown City Cemetery following the service.

He was born March 29, l952, in Rushville to William Kenneth and Audrey Peterson Quinn. He married Judy Elliott June 22, 1972, in Rushville.
She survives, along with his mother of Camden; one son, Travis Quinn, and one daughter, Kylie Quinn, both of Camden; one brother, Richard Quinn of Columbus, Ohio; and one sister, Mrs. Alice "Jody" Ritchey of Camden.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post 4. He also was a member of the Church of Christ (Christian) in Rushville and served on the Camden Township Board. He was a driver for Dave Clinard Trucking of Mt. Sterling.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 30, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Rick Colbert officiating. Burial was in the Stoneking Cemetery in Bethel Township, McDonough County, where military services were conducted by Schuyler American Legion Post 4.

He was born Aug. 3, 1915, near Golden, the son of Lammert and Eva (Kaufman) Redenius. He married Florence Dierker on July 5, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1998.
He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Redenius of Quincy and Beverly Warning of Moline; four sisters, Mildred Henderson of Golden, Marie Bell of Augusta, Eva Winters of Augusta and Darlene Bell of Coral Springs, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Gary Redenius; three brothers, Frank, Rayburn and Irvin Redenius; and two sisters, Erma Kerker and Vera Jump.
He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Augusta.

She married Albert A. Scott on Dec. 24, 1934, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1980. She then married Edwin Rimington on July 24, 1982, in West Burlington, Iowa. He survives.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Russel Philbrick.
Also surviving are two sons, Carl Dean (and Martha) Scott of Rock Falls, and Larry Scott of Middlesex, N.C.; two daughters, Mary Jane Crooks of Burlington, Iowa and Judith Ann Charbonneaux of Minot, N.D.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one step-daughter, Margo Rimington of Prophetstown; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Bob (Betty) Briggs of Elgin, Ore., and Dorothy Moline of Mason City, Iowa.
She was a member of the Ipava United Presbyterian Church, and was a homemaker.
Services were held Monday, Oct. 9 at the Ipava Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Doctor A. R. Juterbock officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of services.

Betty Sue Roberts, 72, of Huntsville, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2000, in her home in Huntsville as a result of a house fire.
She was born Jan. 15, 1928, near Augusta in Hancock County, the daughter of Olaf and Mildred (Turner) Twaddle.
She married Eldon Roberts on Oct. 20, 1946, in Bowen. He died Nov. 18, 1966. She later married Billy Dean Roberts on Feb. 27, 1970, in Bushnell. He survives.
Also surviving are six sons: David George Roberts (wife, Jenny) of Fort Payne, Ala.; James E. Roberts (wife, Ronda) of Normal, William Eugene Roberts (wife, Lisa) of Rushville, Richard Mark Roberts (wife, Christy) of Augusta, Mike Roberts of: Richmond, Texas, and Mark Roberts (wife, Myra) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three daughters: Linda Sue Bradshaw (husband, Bob) of Chickamauga, Ga., Maria Alexander of Hannibal, Mo. (husband, Paul of LaPrairie), and Marcy Hopping (husband, Brad) of Plymouth; 18 grandchildren; two brothers, John Twaddle of Augusta and Dick Twaddle (wife, Betty) of Carthage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Twaddle, and two brothers-in-law, Virgil Roberts and Glenn Bunnell.
She was a retired cook at the Bowen and Augusta grade schools, and had been a food service supervisor at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb and the Hancock County Shelter Care Home in Augusta. She also operated Betty Sue's Cafe in Bowen.
She was a graduate of Augusta High School, and was an active member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church.
She was well known in the area for her cake baking and decorating skills. She was a member and president of the Augusta Senior Center. She served as superintendent in the domestic department of the Hancock County Fair and organized the pie baking contest. She served as a volunteer aide at the Southeastern Elementary School in Plymouth and was a past leader of the Center Satellites 4-H Club.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in the United Church of Augusta in Augusta, Ill., with Rev. Kathleen Hughes and Rev. Gary Bass officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta.
Memorials may be made to the Southeastern Elementary School Library, Augusta Senior Citizens Center, or the Huntsville United Methodist Church.
Obituary for Lee Alice Greenleaf Schenck

Lee Alice Greenleaf Schenck was born April 18, 1905, in Birmingham, a daughter of Joseph Peter and Nona Alta Sell Greenleaf. She died on Oct. 15, 2000, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She married Roger Clyde Schenck March 2, 1952, in Anthony, N.M. He died Nov. 7, 1969, in Albuquerque, N.M. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Greenleaf (an infant) and Mrs. Joseph (Pauline) Bovey; three brothers, Joseph Uriah Greenleaf, Sterling Greenleaf, and Roger E. Greenleaf; two nieces; and two nephews.
Mrs. Schenck graduated from Augusta High School in 1923, and taught school in the area until she entered nurse's training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. She received a BSN from the University of Chicago, and then was a nurse in Indianapolis, Ind., and Pittsburgh, Penn. When World War II began, she was the first woman from Schuyler County to enter World War II military service, Oct. 4, 1942. She was stationed first at Fort Ord, Calif., then in Brisbane and Sydney, Australia, where she served 28 months as staff nurse and chief nurse. She was discharged from service as a captain, Sept. 30, 1946.
In 1946, Alice moved to Albuquerque, N.M., where she was head therapy nurse for the Veterans Administration Hospital. She obtained her master's degree in nursing education from the University of New Mexico in 1951. After several years in the VA hospital at Prescott, she retired, returning to live in Albuquerque. There she was the New Mexico State Inspector of Schools of Nursing for several years.
After the death of her husband, she moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1971, to be near family members. After her retiremeat, she traveled extensively throughout the world and worked on her hobbies, including stamps, dolls, bird figurines, pitchers, Depression and Fenton glass, flea marketing, family history and genealogy. In 1985, she published a genealogy, "Peter and Mary Halenbeck Greenleaf of New Jersey and sons Peter and Joseph of Illinois." In 1992 she moved to Sunset Home in Quincy to be near her sister, Violet G. Rose.
Alice is survived by one sister, Violet G. Rose of Quincy, and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Glen (Mary) Hanning of Huntsville; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Obituary for LILLY BREEDEN
Mrs. Lilly Breeden was born in madison county in 1873 and died at her home
near Browning, Oct. 3rd, 1916. She leaves beside her husband, nine
children, three brothers and three sisters to mourn her death. The children
are: Dannie, Raymond, Gertie, Ethel, Nelson, Mable, Tenie, Tilly and
Lawrence.
She was converted and became a member of the Baptist church at Sin Carte,
about 30 years ago and has since lived a christian life.
The funeral services were conducted at the Sheldons Grove church Thursday
morning at 11 o'clock conduted by Rev. Flavel Anderson. Burial in the
cemetery near by.

Death of Bertie Breeden
Argus Searchlight, Astoria, Illinois
Bertie Breeden was born in Lynchburg, township, Mason county, Illinois
on March 26, 1875. She departed this life at the home of her brother,
Beriman Breeden, near Browning on March 28, 1912; aged thirty seven years
and two days.
She was united in marriage to Allen Moss at Snicarte in March 1891. To
this union were born five sons and two daughters. She leaves to mourn her
loss, her husband, two daughters and three sons and four grandchildredn.
Two sonns having preceeded the mother to the final resting place. The
daughters are Mrs. Effie Gobble of Sheldons Grove and Mrs. Laura Linsey of
Havana. The sons are Charles, Wilbert and Russell Moss, all of whom are at
home. She also leaves four brothers, John J. Breeden and James A Breeden
both of Bath; Beriman Breeden of Browning and Charles Breeden of Camden,
also one sister, Mrs. Emily Arendell of Mason City.
Funeral services were held at the home of her brother, Beriman J.
Breeden of near Browning. conducted by Rev. W. B. Theobald on March 30,
1912 at 10 A. M. She was laid to rest in the Thompson Cemetery, three miles
north of Sheldons Grove

DANE BREEDEN 81, OF BROWNING DIED
Argus Searchlight, Astoria, Illinois Dec. 14, 1974
Dane D. Breeden 81, of Browning died at 5PM Saturday at the Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Tuesday at the Centeral Christian
Church in Browning with the Rev. Lottie Morrow and the Rev. Ted Shirley
officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Schuyler County Post 4
American Legion at 8PM tonight at the Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville.
Family Visitation will be form 7 to 9pm tonight at ehr funeral chapel
and friends may call at the church form noon Tuesday until the time of the
services. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery.
Mr. Breeden was born in Snicarte on Dec. 29, 1892, a son of Bearaman J.
and Lillie Jolly Breeden. He married Alice Phillips in Beardstown on May
27, 2922. She survives. He has been a wholesale-retail fish dealer in
Browning for several years. He was a member of the Central Christian Church
and a charter member of the Schuyler County Post 4 American Legion, holding
as honorary lifetime membership. He was the first man from Schuyler County
called to service in the U.S. Army during World War 1.
In addition to his widow Mr. Breeden is survived by one sone, Albert J.
of Browning: three grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; two sisters,
Mrs. Mabel Flock of Grafton and Mrs. Tilda Van Drosick of Alton, and one
brother Nelson of Browning. One son Ernest and three sisters, and one
brother proceeded him in death.

Obituary for Jewel M. Breeden
RUSHVILLE- Jewel M. Breeden, 78 of Rushville and formerly of Browning, died
at 2:04pm Friday, April 23, 1993 at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.
She was born March 6, 1915 in Bland, Mo. to Walter and Frances(Crider)
Fitzgerald. She married Raymond R. Breeden in April 1934 in Virginia. He
died Sept. 6, 1967.
She is survived by one daughter, Doris Burnett Lee of Rushville; one
step-son Eugene Breeden of East Peoria; one brother Everett Fitzgerald of
Canaan, Mo.; three sisters, Mae Grannermann, of Gerald, Mo. Ruby Bossaller,
Owensville, Mo. and Frances "Bonnie" Busby of Rushville; five grandchildren;
eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 24
step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many
friends.
She was proceded in death by her parents; one son, Stanley Scego; one
brother, Raymond Fitzgerald; one niece and one nephew.
She was a former member of the Browning Assembly of God Church and a
member of the Rushville Assembly of God Church. She wa a housewife and
worked for several years aththe Boyd and Myers Nursing Homes in Beardstown
before retiring in 1965. In later years she enjoyed derving as a volunteer
athe HELP Center in Rushville.
Funeral services are 11am Monday in the Rushville Assembly of God
Church with the Rev. Tim Lotz officiating Burial will be in the Browning
Cemetery.
Visitation is 6 to8 pm Sunday at the Worthington Funeral Home in
Rushville.
Memorials may be made to the Rushville Assembly of God Church or the
donor's choice.

Raymond Breeden Dies
Rites to be in Browning Sept. 7, 1967
Raymond R. Breeden, 71 a commercial fisherman from Browning, died
Wednesday morning at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville where he had
been a patient since May 15.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm at Browning Methodist church
with Rev. A. O. Brannon officiating. Burial will be in Browning Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 25, 1896 in Snicarte, Ill. a son of Barriman J. and
Lilly Jolley Breeden. He married Trolley Lou Gann and she died in 1933. He
married Jewel M. Fitzgerald in May of 1934 in Virginia.
She survives along with three children, Eugene of east Peoria, Stanley
Sego of Browning and Mrs. Robert(Doris) Burnett of Browning; seven
grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Mabel Flock of Hardin, Mrs Tillie
Vondracek of Alton, Mrs Elva Post of Brighton, Mrs. Ethel Brown of Canton,
Mrs. Gertrude Walton of Rushville; three brothers, Dane Breeden and Nelson
of Browning and Lawrence of Andalusia.
The family will meet with friends after 7pm Friday evening at Roby
Funeral chapel. Remains will be taken to Methodist church in Browning at
noon on Saturday. Friends may call until time of services.

Nelson A Breeden 30, May, 1899--17, Oct. 1979
Browning--Nelson A. Breeden, 80, Browning died at 7:56 am Wednesday at
Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
Services will be held Saturday at 3p.m. at the Browning United
Methodist Church. The Rev. Gary Bass will officiate. Burial will be in
the Browning Cemetery. Friends may call at the Shawgo Memorial Home in
Astoria after 10a.m. Friday and Saturday form noon until time of services at
the church.
He was born May 30, 1899, in Schuyler County. a son of Barryman and
Lilly Jolly Breeden. He married Ruby Crafton. Jan. 24, 1924 at Virginia,
Ill. She preceeded him in death April 27, 1976.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Hi is proceded in
death by three brothers and three sisters.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Browning United Methodist
Church.

Mrs. Ruby Breeden of Browning Dies
Mrs. Ruby Alice Breeden, 68, of Browning died at 6:40p.m. Tuesday at
Beardstown Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Breeden will be at 1:30p.m. Friday at the
Browning Methodist Church. The Rev. Harold Hedden will officate . Burial
will be in Browning Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday afternoom and
evening at the Shawgo Funeral Home Astoria.
Mrs. Breeden was born Sept. 25, 1907, at Bath the daughter of Charles
and Mary Charlotte Whitehead Crafton. She married Nelson Breeden on Jan 24,
1924 in Virginia. He survives. She was a member of the Browning Methodist
Church.
Besides her husband, she is also survived by a foster son, Paul
Crafton of Alanta Ga., one sister,Mrs. Nina Wietecha of Miami. Fla; and one
brother james of pekin. she was preceded in death by two sisters and one
brother.

Hazel Breeden Laid to Rest Wednesday
Hazel Breeden 66, of the Snyder Vaugh Haven Nursing Home in Rushville
padded away Sunday November 14, 1982 at the Culbertson Memorial Hospital in
Rushville.
She was born April 19, 1916 to Clark and Anna Brooks Hinbaugh and in
1941 was united in marriage to Vancil Breeden. He died in 1961.
She is survived by a 1/2 sister Helen Johnson of Florida; numerous
nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held 11:00a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 1982 at
the Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta. Rev. Harvey Anderson officiated.
Mary Keller played comforting organ selections. Pallbearers were Max
Breeden, Roger Breeden, Jack Breeden, Glen Drake, Don and Lloyd Toland.
Burial was in the Rosemont Cemetery in Plymouth.

Minnie Breeden
PLYMOUTH, ILL.--- Minnie Mae Breeden 92, a homemaker of Plymouth Route
3, died at 10:30a.m. Thursday(Oct. 9, 1997) in her home.
She was born April 15, 1905 in Warsaw, a daughter of Charles and Louisa
Waugh Phillips. She married Virgil Breeden April 4, 1928. in Macomb. He
survives.\
Survivors also include three sons, Jack and Jerry Breeden of Plymouth
and Roger Breeden O Loraine; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Wike of Macomb; nine
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;two step granddaughters; and two
stepgreat-grandchildren.
she was preceded in death by a son Max Breeden, a brother Fred
Phillips; a sister, Ruth Hall; and a great-grandson.
Services will be conducted at 1p.m. Sunday in the Hamilton Funeral Home
in Plymouth by the Rev. Henry Nash. Burial will be in Scotts Cemetery near
Plymouth.
Family will meet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to McDonough District Hospital Hospice.
