Mrs.
Catherine Eads,
wife of Henry
Eads, died at her
home in this city
on Wednesday
evening of last
week. On Friday
afternoon at 4
o'clock funeral
services were held
at the family
residence,
conducted by Rev.
A.C. Adams;
interment in the
city cemetery.
Catherine Yates
was born in the
state of
Tennessee
, Oct. 30, 1837,
and died in
Rushville, Aug.
27, 1913. She was
joined in marriage
to Findley
Johnston in 1851,
and came at once
to live in
Rushville
,
Ill.
, where she has
lived ever since.
To this union were
born ten children,
five of whom live
to mourn her
death: Frederick
of Defiance, Ohio,
Joseph of Hanover,
Ill.; Mrs. Volney
Sanford of
Rushville; Mrs.
Addie Grubb and
Mrs. Mary Kelzer,
both of
Omaha
,
Neb.
Her husband died
in 1877, and she
was married to
Henry Eades in
1881, who survives
her. She joined
the Southern
Methodist church
thirty-five years
ago, and lived a
consistent Christian
life.
