William S.
Thornton, seventy-four years of age,
passed away at 10:50 o'clock Monday
night at his home in Browning, after
an extended illness. He had been
confined to his home for seven weeks
and everything possible was done to
relieve his suffering, but he
gradually became weaker. He was
born January 27, 1851, in Miller
county, Mo.
Besides his
loving wife, he is survived by six
children: Nancy Chester of
Browning, Shelton Thornton of
Beardstown; Charles Thornton of
Browning; Mrs. Cora Winston of
Sheldons Grove; Ola Kehr and Frances
Miller of Browning, and twenty-four
grand children and two great grand
children.
Funeral
services will be conducted early
Thursday morning from the late home,
and at 10 o�clock from the M. E.
Church. Internment will be in
the Ridge cemetery.
