Obituary for JOEL H. D’CAMP

January 27, 1932


JOEL H. D’CAMP, aged sixty-two years, died Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs.  Arthur Jones, on West Lafayette street following a stroke of paralysis suffered recently.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. E. K. Towle, were held Saturday afternoon at one o’clock at the Gordon Funeral Home. Internment was in Camp Creek cemetery near Industry.

The following obituary was read at the service:

Joel Henry, son of Barton and Abbie E. (Jackson) D’Camp was born Dec. 20th, 1870, in Ray, Illinois, where his early life was spent.

On August 19th, 1896, he was married to Miss Viola C. Fowler, who preceded him in death March 8, 1919.

He is survived by his aged mother, one sister, one brother and the following children: Frank of Fairfield, Iowa, Mrs. Arthur Jones, Joel D’Camp Jr., and Clarence P., all of Rushville and Laila of Bushnell; also six grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Abbie Brooking, passed away five years ago and four children died………………………….
