RITES HELD FRIDAY FOR GRANDVILLE McCOMBS, 84
Funeral services for Grandville Wright McCombs, 84, who died Wednesday morning in his home in Browning Township, where held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Browning Church of Christ with burial in Browning Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Wright, pastor of Schuyler Parish Churches, officiated.
Mr. McCombs was born November 26, 1874 near Browning, the eldest son of Alexander and Martha Miller McCombs. He was married to Ester Robbins Dec 12, 1899.
Survivors are three sons, Clifford of Mt. Sterling; Ed of Astoria and Dale of Ray; a daughter, Mrs Lettle Simmons of Browning; two brothers, Martin of Browning and Reese of Astoria; four grand-children and six great grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Taylor, and a sister, Mrs. Janey Stambaugh.
Many years ago he confessed his faith in Christ and became a member of the Church of Christ at Browning, remaining loyal to his faith thruout his lifetime.
Mr. McCombs spent his entire life in the vicinity of Browning and Bader and was loved and respected by a great number of friends and neighbors.
