MARTIN EDWARD MCCOMBS
Martin Edward McCombs, 82, lifetime Browning area resident, died early yesterday in Culbertson Memorial Hospital, Rushville, after an illness of 5 � years.
He was born April 9, 1885, near Browning, the son of Alex and Martha Jeanette Miller McCombs and was first married in 1909 to Ima Aldridge who died in Feb of 1924.
He then married Ida M. Binns in 1926, who survives along with one son, Melvin H. McCombs of East Peoria; one daughter, Mrs Emma Jeanette Gottlieb of Creve Coeur; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Reece McCombs of Astoria. He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, two brothers and one sister.
Mr. McCombs was a member of the Browning Church of Christ where services will be at 2 PM tomorrow. Burial will be in Browning Cemetery. (Rushville Newspaper) (He retired as a section hand on the CB & Q Railroad (Schuyler County History Vol II))
