Mrs. W.E Grist, Aged 84 Yrs., Died Friday July
13
Mrs. Roseanna Rittenhouse-Grist, widow of W.E Grist, died July 13, at her home in
Bainbridge Township, at
the age of 84 years and 10 months.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. J. Henninger, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family
residence, six miles south of Rushville. Internment was made in the Rushville Cemetery, where her
husband is buried.
Roseanna Rittenhouse, daughter of William and Nancy Rittenhouse, early pioneer residents
of Schuyler County, was
born September 6, 1849 on a farm in Bainbridge Township,
throughout the more four score years of her life, with the exception of one year, she made her home in Bainbridge Township.
On February 22, 1882, she was joined in marriage to W. E. Grist. To this union were
born two sons, Harry of Terry,
Montana and Ray of Bainbridge Township, with whom she made her home following the death of her husband a few years
ago,
In early life Mrs. Grist was converted and remained a faithful follower of God until the
end.
Besides her surviving sons, she leaves eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Nancy
Burnside and three brothers, William, Hiram, and Marion Rittenhouse, all of Rushville.
