Patricia Parker
Obituary

Patricia, the two-year-old daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. G. Parker, of near Warsaw, was drowned in a pond, about a
quarter of a mile from the residence one evening last week. The little girl, carrying her doll, wandered away from the house about five
o’clock in the evening, and the mother, busy in the house, noticed her absence, within ten or fifteen minutes. The father was
threshing in a field some distance from the house but joined in the search as soon as he learned that the little girl was missing. The
premises were thoroly searched, but it was some little time before anyone thought of looking in the pond, as it was quite a distance from
the house. One of the searchers noticed a piece of cloth on top of the water and waded in and found the child’s body. The little tot
had opened two gates on her way to the pond and apparently one foot had stuck in the mud at the edge of the water and it is believed that
in loosening the foot she staggered on into the water until she fell face downward in the pond.
