SALAITHEL STONE DIED IN NEW MEXICO, JUNE 14

Salaithel Stone, former well known resident of Camden, and brother of James Stone of this city, died at Chimayo, New Mexico, Thursday of last week, where he had gone to make his home with his sons in hope that the change would benefit his health.

On Tuesday funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Augusta at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. D. H. Middents; interment in Woodlawn cemetery.

Salaithel Stone, son of Lora and Nancy Stone, was born in Camden, Ill., April 28 1867, and departed this life at Chimayo, New Mexico, June 14, 1928, aged 61 years, 1 month and 17 days.

He was united in marriage to Clara E. Warrington on Feb. 22, 1899. To this union five children were born: Mrs. Gladys Hartley of Bloomington; Mrs. Inez Tarr of Augusta; Chester and Lester of Chimayo, New Mexico, who were with him when the final summons came. His son Emery departed this life July 13, 1927.

Mr. Stone had spent his entire life in Camden, until coming to Augusta in 1923, where he resided until Dec. 1927, when he with his wife and two sons, Lester and Chester, went to Chimayo, New Mexico, thinking a change of climate might be of benefit to his fast failing health but of no avail. Since the death of his son, Emery, he had been reconciled to God's will, bearing his suffering with great patience, often expressing a willingness to go when the time should come, although he would have liked so much to have been permitted to spend his last days with all his friends that were near and dear to him.

He was a man of very quiet disposition and loved by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his departure the sorrowing wife, two sons and two daughters and three grand-children, two brothers, James Stone of Rushville, Albert Stone of Camden, and three sisters, Mrs. Alice Cleek, Mrs. Lizzie Cady and Mrs. Laura Lawson, all of Camden, besides a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.
