…………… Tuesday of last week at his home in Bader, brought sorrow into many home in Browning township where he resided during the entire span
of his well spent life.
Funeral services were held Friday
morning at 10 o’clock, at the Bader church, conducted by Rev. Earl F. Himes. Burial in Bader cemetery.
Water Maro Venters, youngest son of
Henry and Elizabeth Jones Venters, was born at the Venter homestead, one mile west of Bader, Feb. 18, 1853, and departed this life Aug.
23, 1932, aged 79 years, 6 months and 5 days. His entire life was lived on the farm, until a few years ago, he retired to his home in
Bader. He was the youngest of a family of six daughters and two sons, all of whom preceded him in death.
His health began to fail two years
ago, but only a few weeks ago it began to fail more rapidly, and although everything that medical skill and loving hands could do was
done to reclaim his health, it was of no avail and he rapidly declined until death came to claim him on Tuesday
evening.
On May 4, 1879, he was united in
marriage to Margaret Diamond, To this union nine children were born, three if whom preceded him in death, Mabel, Diamond and Grover. He
is survived by his wife and the following children: Glen of Virden, Ernest of Canton, Homer of Tampa, Fla., Guy and Mrs Beulah Trone of
Bader, and Olive at home. They observed their golden wedding anniversary on May 4, 1929.
In April, 1872, he united with the
Church of Christ, at Bader, in which he has lived a long and active life, serving on the church board for many years as deacon, elder and
church trustee. He served for a number of years as chairman of the board.
He was a kind, loving husband and
father, and always took a great interest in the home life.
He was a generous and hospitable
neighbor and friend, and in the passing the family has lost a tender and loving husband and father, the church a true and faithful
friends, and the community a loyal citizen.
