Lois Robertson   24 Jan 1999
I am looking for Kesiah COLLIER born in Schuyler County, Illinois, on May 12, 1833 as she stated on a certificate of marriage in 1859 when she became the second wife of my greatgrandfather, Thomas Wheeler ROBERTSON, who was born in Indiana and went to California. Kesiah and TW met coming west on a wagon train sometime in the 1850s. Kesiah died in California in 1904 and I have been unable to find so much as one COLLIER in Schuyler County. Family lore says that Kesiah was first married and divorced by a nephew of the first governor of Kentucky and I was able to find a marriage between Kesiah COLLIER and Hilman T. WALKER in the 1840s. He later married in 1856 to Susan WINSTEAD. Kesiah and TW had four children together as well as the three that TW had from his first marriage. I would very much like to find our about Kesiah's parents and if she had brothers and sisters. I found some Colliers but from the area in Indiana that my greatgrandfather was born, Rushville, Indiana - not Rushville, Illinois. But the writing on the marriage certificate is definitely Illinois. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on Kesiah's origins.
