Looking for any information on Issac (born between 1830 - 1840, probably in NC) and Sarah Manlove Hiatt (born 1806 in NC). They were living in Schuyler County, IL on the 1840 census and on the 1850 only Sarah and the children are listed, but in McDonough County. Did Issac die and if so when and where? Their children were William, Leatitia, Joseph, Louis, Thomas, Jane, Sewell, George and possible Enos who would be the oldest if he belongs to this family. The children were born between the years of 1830 and 1847 which would mean that Issac was alive until at least then. I can not find any member of this family in McDonough County on the 1860 census. Where did they go? Was it Iowa?? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

DOOLITTLE, Martin James, Dentist, born 1864 in Harrison, Winne- bago Co., IL; married Jennie Shumway in 1885 in Lanark, Carroll Co., IL; moved to Rushville where my mother Vade and her brother Howard were born. They moved out of Rushville, according to my family scuttlebutt, when James and Jennie were divorced. Jennie then moved west to Tacoma, WA with her parents (the Alvaro Shumways of Lanark), her two children and a sister named Rose. My QUERY: Was there a newspaper being published in Rushville at that time, and if so, could one research it in person, or re- motely. AND QUERY #2, where's the most likely place to find divorce records of that period and area? Oh, I may as well look for Births as well. Thank you all and good luck with your efforts. Dave Bardue

Dora D. Covey was born 26 Sep 1856 at Rushville, Schuyler, Illinois. There is very strong evidence that she was a carrier of a rare genetic disorder called "X-Linked Juvenile Retina.Schisis." I don't know which of her parents she got it from. She was their only child. This condition is degenerative and causes legal blindness in males before age 40. Because of its rarity, it is often mis-diagnosed. If you have ever heard of blindness or poor eyesight running in the following families, please contact me. COVEY of Schuyler & Pike counties, Illinois. CARLOCK from Tennessee & of Schuyler county, Illinois. TRACEY of Fulton & Schuyler counties, Illinois.

I need help sorting out the Reason PRATHERs who were in Schuyler Co., IL. Can anyone tell me the age of the Reason PRATHER who died 24 Jan 1846 in Schuyler Co.? He left a widow, Lucinda VINEYARD PRATHER, who he had married 14 Mar 1838 in Schuyler Co. She was a daughter of George Vineyard of White Hall, Greene Co. Was he: 1. the Reason PRATHER who was born in VA in the 1770s, married Sarah M. RAY (dau. of John RAY) 1799 in MD, then after she died married Nancy COCHRAN in Fleming Co., KY? 2. or, Reason PRATHER, the son of the above named Reason, born around 1810 in KY? 3. Which Reason PRATHER married Nancy Lavina SALISBURY 27 Apr 1831 in Schuyler Co.? Am quite sure that he was not Reason PRATHER (son of Darius & Caroline TACKETT PRATHER who lived across the line in Fulton Co.) and whose first wife was Rebecca O'Donnell and second wife was Zilpha Rebecca PARKS.
