In 1999, past Schuyler county coordinator Robin L. Peterson created a series of lists for both grand jurors and petit jurors. These lists covered jurors who served from 1835 through 1854 in Schuyler County, providing their name, the term served, the amount owed and whether they were paid. Later county coordinator Dennis Partridge compiled these individual lists into a larger list and separated out the grand jurors from the petit jurors. The original list is copyright 1999-2001 by Robin L. Peterson. The format of the current display is copyright 2021 by ILGenWeb.

A petit, or trial jury is generally 12 people sworn to try a criminal or civil case, hearing evidence and rendering a verdict. In some cases additional jurors can be chosen as alternates. Some types of cases may use a jury of six (6) people. A grand jury, so named because it is comprised of a greater number of people (16) than a petit jury, is sworn to hear evidence presented by the prosecution and determines if probable cause exists that a crime has been committed.
