Highway Appointment 1868



Highway Appointment: Schuyler County, Town of Woodstock Whereas a vacancy has occured in the office of overseer of highways for road district No. five in said town by reason of refusal to serve on account of not being eligible to town office Now therefore we the undersigned commissioners of highways of said town do hereby appoint James Ridings as overseer of highways of and for said road district in said to fill said vacancy. 1868 Highway Labor Assessed: The following people were assessed 2 days labor as road tax for Woodstock, Schuyler Co.: George Stremmel; George Knell; Austin Black; Benson Riley; William Gardner; Louis Lieneke; Robert Brown; George Armel; Solemon Blare; John Brown; Ramon Obets; Dena Ceer?; Jacob Armel; and Harson Benafield. Signed by John C. Taylor, James ? Thompson; and Peter Vanormer delivered to James E. Ridings, Overseer.
