Butlersville
It is situated on the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of section nine, and was laid out and named after its original proprietor, Noah Butler, November 29th, 1846, and surveyed and platted by I. M. Sweeney. Noah Butler built a store, and sold the first goods in the town, soon after it was laid out. There has been a store there most of the time since its existence. At the present writing, there are two general merchandising establishments,--H. C. Schultz and Daniel Severns proprietors.
