The first family reunion for the Rev. Wayne Bonser descendants was held at his home the weekend of Aug. 6-8.

Those present were his son, Bob, and wife, Carol, of Livonia, Mich.; daughter Carol and husband Ed Gordillo of Decatur; daughter Jan and husband John Vancil of Rushville; grandchildren - Michael Bonser and wife of Redford, Mich., Randy Bonser and wife Benita of Allendale, Mich., Sheryl Smith and husband Brad of Westminister, Md., Renea Gailey and husband Rusty of Novi, Mich., Todd Vancil of Rushville and fiancee Jennifer Miller and daughter Tracey of Quincy, Christian Whisman and husband Kevin of Valpraso, Ind.; great-grandchildren - Luke and Joel Bonser, sons of Michael; Madeline Smith, daughter of Sheryl; Sophia Bonser, daughter of Randy.
The weather was perfect with meals on Saturday served picnic style, outside, with a cookout at noon. Outdoor games were played and much "catching up" was done, as they sat under the shade trees. Old pictures were viewed and funny tales of the past were told.
The Bonser brother's families were invited to join on Sunday, as a meal was served in the fellowship hall at the First Christian Church, hosted by the "Kum-Join-Us" Sunday School Class. Those joining were Doris Bonser of Rushville, daughter Norma Hadley and husband David of Warrensville; Steve Bonser, wife Lydia and son Tommy of Rushville.
Lots of family pictures were taken, they they traveled to the Vancil farm for the afternoon.
Two of the highlights of the reunion were the celebration of Luke's seventh birthday on Saturday with a decorated birthday cake from Roger's Bakery, ice cream and lots of presents; and on Sunday, the dedication of 1 1/2 month old Madeline Renea Smith, by the Rev. Bonser.
