Kinderhook School,

This is Center School in Huntsville
Illinois. Elijah Phipps Croxton cut the
timber from his own land and helped to
construct this school house. His own
children were some of the first students
and later became teachers in this building.
It was built before before his death, and
was speculated to to have been built
between 1865 - 1870

This is a photo of the Center Grove school
in Pleasantview Illinois, just outside of
Rushville.The date above the door shows the
date of its completion in 1880. This school
house still stands empty, and alone on the
prairie as of 2010. This photo is believed
to have been taken in 1880 in the late
summer. Shown here is the entire school and
