Last Will and Testament of John Finkenbinder, filed December 9, 1874 (recorded in Will Record “A”, page 48) recites:
“I, John Finkenbinder, of the County of Schuyler and State of Illinois, do make, and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to-wit:
First: It is my will that all my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second: After the payment of such funeral expenses and debts I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Elizabeth Jane Finkenbinder, the farm on which we now reside situated in said County and known and described as one hundred (100) acres off the West side of the South West quarter of Section Ten (10) in Township Two (2) North, range one (1) west of the fourth principal meridian, during her natural life and all the live stock, horses, cattle, sheep and hogs etc by me now owned and kept thereon; also all the household furniture and other articles of personal property not here inumerated during her natural life after having disposed of a sufficient amount to pay and discharge the expenses and debts aforesaid and that at her death all the property aforesaid to her bequesthed or so much thereof as may remain unexpended after being sold shall be divided equally among my four children who are named as follows: Hannah Mary, Laura June, Rachel Ann and Harriett.
And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my said wife, Elizabeth Jane Finkenbinder executrix of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and satisfied and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I, the said John Finkenbinder have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy four.

Petition of Elizabeth J. Finkenbinder for Letters Testamentary filed December 21, 1874. Represents that John Finkenbinder died on or about December 6, 1874, leaving a Last Will and Testament, duly signed, published and attested with William Carty and Henry Hammond as subscribing witnesses and nominating Elizabeth J. Finkenbinder, petitioner, as Executrix. Further represents that decedent died seized of real and personal property, said personal property being estimated to be worth about $1050.00. Prays that Letters Testamentary issue to petitioner Elizabeth J. Finkenbinder.
