Butlersville

It is situated onthe southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of section nine, and waslaid out and named after its original proprietor, Noah Butler, November29th, 1846, and surveyed and platted by I. M. Sweeney. Noah Butler builta store, and sold the first goods in the town, soon after it was laid out.There has been a store there most of the time since its existence. At thepresent writing, there are two general merchandising establishments,–H.C. Schultz and Daniel Severns proprietors.
