Hisfather was Edward Treadway, a native of Maryland, of English stock. Hegrew up as a farmer in Maryland, and married Elizabeth Anderson, who wasreared and educated in Hartford county, Maryland. She came of Scotch ancestry.He and his wife moved to Hamilton county in 1816, and later came to Illinois,into Cass county, and settled in what is known as the Monroe precinct.This was in 1829.
