Alexander McCombs another highly respected Browning citizen, died at his home Saturday evening, death being due to heart failure. Mr. McCombs had suffered from heart trouble for a number of years. Friday he walked to the barn, a short distance from his residence, where he fell. He was assisted to the house and immediately took to his bed. His two sons, Reese and Taylor who were in the room with him Saturday evening, stepped out for a few minutes and on their return found their father dying. Mr. McCombs was born in Ohio, Feb. 28, 1844. At the time of his death, he was aged 76 years and 9 months. The deceased was united in marriage to Martha Miller, Aug. 26, 1871. To this union eight children were born, his wife and four children having preceded him to the great beyond. Besides the surviving children, he leaves to mourn his death one brother and two sisters, all of Browning. The sons are Grandville, Taylor, Reece, and Martin. Mr. McCombs was a good citizen and his many friends regret his sudden departure. He was a good Christian man having obeyed the gospel of Christ thirty-two years ago and was faithful to the end. Funeral Services were held at the home Sunday morning at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev. Stephen Robertson. Interment in the Browning Cemetery.
