WILLIS MCCOMBS Illinois BROWNING — Willis P. McCombs, 71, of Browning died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 1995, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville. He was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Browning to Charles Taylor and Bessie Mercer McCombs. Surviving are one sister, Blanche Phillips of Rushville; two nieces, Carole Buck of Rushville and Phyllis Scalf of Tremont; and two nephews, Loren McCombs and Roger McCombs, both of Lewistown. He was preceded in death by five brothers. He worked in construction and farmed in the Browning area. He was a medic in the Army from March 16, 1943, to Feb. 19, 1946. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville. Collis Trone will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Browning Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by Schuyler American Legion Post 4. Memorials may be made to Browning Fire Department.
