INGRAHAM – McELLECE
Lynne Ingraham Evans – March 2003
My INGRAHAM side came from Rushville but one of those INGRAHAMs married Grace Evelyn MC ELLECE or MC ELICE, my great grandmother who was born and raised in Rushville. She was born 4-4-1881. Her father was John MC ELLECE or MC ELICE of Rushville. He was a carpenter and married a woman named Sarah, a  homemaker.
Grace married my great grandfather, Vance Willoughby INGRAHAM in 1897 in Kane Co., Illinois. They had 2 sons both born in Rushville…in 1898 and 1900…Laurence and Maurice INGRAHAM (my grandfather). He died in 1920 and she later married his brother, George Mitchell INGRAHAM, who was a silent movie screen actor. He made many films with famous actors and actresses. They did not have children together.
I have reached a dead end with the MC ELLECE family…any help out there?

GREER – INGRAHAM

I am the relative of EMMA A. GREER, born in Rushville in 1847. I know that her father was George L. GREER, born about 1821 and migrated to Rushville. He married a woman named “Marcia” who was born about 1820. Their children were all born in Rushville. Emma married Oliver Willoughby INGRAHAM in 1868 in Rushville. Their children were all born in Rushville: F. Clifford INGRAHAM, George Mitchell INGRAHAM, and Vance Willoughby INGRAHAM. This name is misspelled in some of your records as INGERHAM. Sometimes GREER is spelled GRIER.  I am at a dead end with George L. GREER and his wife “Marcia”.

GARDINER
Susan Rezek – March 2003
Am trying to contact Terry Gaffigan, who is listed as a contact for the surname Gardiner on the Schuyler County GenWeb site. The e-mail address link for Terry is bouncing.
Regarding the Gardiner surname, found an error in the transcription of the 1860 Census on the Schuyler Co. GenWeb site. On checking the microfilm for the 1860 census, I found a D. W. Gardener [sic], his wife, Virginia, and infant daughter, Carrie M. This family is omitted on the transcription. Don’t know if this family is related to your Gardiner family, but if you would like the reference let me know. Also, the page numbers/house numbers, etc. on the transcription do not match the microfilm at all.

WILSON
Charlotte Johns – March 2003
I have a genealogical question. My relative – WILSON, Elijah M. Jr. – Littleton b. abt. 1834, Ill. –  is listed in the 1861 Militia Roll Record L-Z. I haven’t been able to find a record of him any later than 1861-1862, and I wondered if there was a list of people who died while fighting in the war? I know that some of the listings have a note beside them.
His wife, Elizabeth (Dodge) Wilson, d. March 21, 1901 in Rushville, IL, and is buried in Rushville City Cemetery. I found his father, Elijah Milo Wilson, Sr., b. December 30, 1791, Prince William Co., VA, d. December 16, 1871, Bethany cemetery, Schuyler County, Littleton, Illinois, and his mother, Jane (Hawley) Wilson, b. March 04, 1792, VA d. May 11, 1847, Bethany cemetery, Schuyler County, Littleton,  Illinois.
