SACKMAN, SECKMAN, WRIGHT,FIKE, BABB, KENNEY, TAYLOR, BAKER, OWEN, FAIRCHILD, WOOD, PRICE, TYRE,BROWN, PRATHER:

William SACKMAN/SECKMAN/SECKMON,b. 8 Jan 1787 PA. We think his father must have died when he was very young. His mother then married a George FIKE and they had a son John FIKE ca 1792/95.

In the 1810 Census Williamwas in Somerset Co. PA. By 1820 he was in Dearborn Co IN; then to MorganCo IL before 1830; to Schuyler Co. IL about 1836, and to Harrison Co. MOabout 1865. William’s half-brother, John FIKE, went to Morgan Co IL aboutthe same time period in which William went there.

William’s first marriagewas to Susannah WRIGHT. Susan may have been from Perry Co, OH — at leastthat is where her parents were living when she died (ca 1816, prob in DearbornCo. IN) and at least one (maybe more) of the children was sent to grandfatherWRIGHT in Perry Co. OH.

Think William and Sarah hadthese children:
Catherine, m. _____ BABB.
Elizabeth m. _____ KENNY.
Susan

Then William SACKMAN marriedMary “Polly” Owen (b. 1798 MD) and they had children:
John Wesley, b. 1823 RushCo. IN, m. Sally FAIRCHILD, lived Schuyler Co. IL.
Sarah, b. 1828 IN, m. NathanWOOD, lived in Schuyler Co. IL.
Leonard Owen, b. 1830 IL,m.1 Sarah PRICE, m2. Malinda TYRE, lived in Schuyler Co. IL.
George W., b. 1832 IL, m.Nancy TYRE.
Mary, b. 1834 IL, 1m. IsaacFAIRCHILD, 2m. James T. BROWN, lived Harrison Co. MO.
Matilda, b. 1838 near BeardstownIL, m. Riley PRATHER, lived Harrison Co. MO.

Mary, his second wife, diedafter the 1860 census and in 1864 he married Caroline Elizabeth TACKETTPrather, the widow of Darius PRATHER (Darius was father of Riley PRATHERwho had previously married William’s daughter, Matilda.) William &Caroline SACKMAN moved to Harrison Co. MO, along with the families of hisdaughters, Mary & J.T. BROWN, Matilda & Riley PRATHER, and severalof Riley’s siblings.
