HeOwes Life To Crazy Horse

RUSHVILLE,lll. (AP) – A man who once had a brush with Crazy Horse, chief of the Indiannation, now is in his 100th year. Joseph Estes says he was on a wagon trainthat operated between Cheyenne and Deadwood, Wyo. Crazy Horse, [and] anotherIndian interpreter rode toward Estes’ outfit. “Crazy Horse told us notto fire any guns or cause any trouble and we woudn’t be hurt. Then he andhis Indians took off and we got through all right.”
Estesattributes his longevity to peppermint candy and the fact that he “hastaken care of himself.”
