Bonser Family Reunion

    The first family reunionfor the Rev. Wayne Bonser descendants was held at his home the weekendof Aug. 6-8.
    Four generations wererepresented, with the oldest, 83, and the youngest 1 1/2 months.
    Those present were hisson, Bob, and wife, Carol, of Livonia, Mich.; daughter Carol and husbandEd Gordillo of Decatur; daughter Jan and husband John Vancil of Rushville;grandchildren – Michael Bonser and wife of Redford, Mich., Randy Bonserand wife Benita of Allendale, Mich., Sheryl Smith and husband Brad of Westminister,Md., Renea Gailey and husband Rusty of Novi, Mich., Todd Vancil of Rushvilleand fiancee Jennifer Miller and daughter Tracey of Quincy, Christian Whismanand husband Kevin of Valpraso, Ind.; great-grandchildren – Luke and JoelBonser, sons of Michael; Madeline Smith, daughter of Sheryl; Sophia Bonser,daughter of Randy.
    The weather was perfectwith meals on Saturday served picnic style, outside, with a cookout atnoon. Outdoor games were played and much “catching up” was done, as theysat under the shade trees. Old pictures were viewed and funny tales ofthe past were told.
    The Bonser brother’sfamilies were invited to join on Sunday, as a meal was served in the fellowshiphall at the First Christian Church, hosted by the “Kum-Join-Us” SundaySchool Class. Those joining were Doris Bonser of Rushville, daughter NormaHadley and husband David of Warrensville; Steve Bonser, wife Lydia andson Tommy of Rushville.
    Lots of family pictureswere taken, they they traveled to the Vancil farm for the afternoon.
    Two of the highlightsof the reunion were the celebration of Luke’s seventh birthday on Saturdaywith a decorated birthday cake from Roger’s Bakery, ice cream and lotsof presents; and on Sunday, the dedication of 1 1/2 month old MadelineRenea Smith, by the Rev. Bonser.
