Phillips Family Reunion

Sunday, Aug. 15 provedto be a perfect day for the annual Phillips’ family gathering. The reunionof the descendants of Samuel Webster and Catharine Montooth Phillips washeld at the Larry J. and Sherill Phillips residence east of Rushville.
Jeremy Norton gave theblessing for the potluck meal.
After the meal, DannM. Norton gave a report on the family history. President Larry Phillipsand secretary/treasurer Connie Dodd held a business meeting. Bob Phillipsaccepted the president position and Shirley Phillips accepted the secretary/treasurerposition.
The afternoon was spentvisiting and looking at pictures from previous reunions. Several peopletook the long way home, traveling the Scab Hollow Road to see old homeplacesand childhood haunts.
Everyone enjoyed therural setting, and the reunion will be held next year at the same location,the third Sunday in August, 2000.
